2025 National Youth Consultations
Event description
We’re running youth consultations all across Australia and we want you to be part of it! This is your chance to speak up about the things that matter most to you.
At a youth consultation, you’ll get to:
Hang out in youth-friendly spaces with other young people
Share your thoughts in real, meaningful conversations
Who can attend?
This consultation is for young people age 12 to 25.
🧠 What can we talk about?
Anything that’s important to you! Some of the big topics we’re hearing about include:
Mental and physical health
The cost of living
Housing and renting
Education, training, and jobs
But that’s just the start - whatever matters to you, we want to hear about it!
We’re also really keen to chat with you about:
The 2026 National Youth Forum and how can we make it accessible and supportive for young people
The Digital Youth Hub and what would make it more useful for you
The National Youth Survey
🗣️ Why does this matter?
At the Office for Youth, we’re all about making sure young people are heard and involved in Australian Government decisions that affect their lives. We do this by:
Creating spaces like youth consultations where you can speak directly to government about what’s important to you
Offering opportunities to get involved, through Youth Advisory Groups and Youth Steering Committee
Making sure your voices shape our work, like with our youth engagement strategy, Engage! A strategy to include young people in the decisions we make
🍕 What will we provide?
Need some brain food? We’ve got you covered! Snacks and drinks will be provided during the consultation.
📍Where are we going?
