Introduction to Ecovillage Design

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

The Global Ecovillage Network (GEN) is a worldwide network supporting the ecovillage movement. It includes both traditional and indigenous villages that wish to retain their lifestyles with green technologies and newer intentional communities and villages. GEN also embraces movements such as transition towns, co-housing and the permaculture movement which have similar philosophies and motivations.

Join us for a 1-day workshop to delve into the Ecovillage Design Principles and how they can enhance your projects and communities.

In addition, this workshop will introduce you to the Global Ecovillage Network, the movement and ecovillages on the ground, what are living laboratories of regenerative systems.

This workshop will also help you embark on your journey in the ecovillage network, to take steps to become a GEN Ambassador and to join your local GEN network.

Pricing

This workshop is our way to raise resources for our network but we are also sensitive to the economic inequalities and disparities in monetary wealth that exist in Australia. We would like this workshop to be accessible by anyone regardless of background and income levels. So we have designed a tiered system and would like to offer this workshop at the rate that supports your financial capacity.

Our pricing tiers for the whole program:

  • Tree (Pay-it-forward): $100 AUD
  • Branch  (Full ticket): $85 AUD
  • Twig (Regular ticket): $65 AUD
  • Leaf (Concession ticket): $40 AUD

No one will be turned away for lack of funding. We are aware that these
fees might still be high, and we do not want finances to stand in the way of you participating. If you feel this pricing is still out of your reach, please write to us at enquiry@genaustralia.org.au so we can discuss further and find a way that works for all.

Tree (Pay-it-forward): this includes a donation to GEN Australia, towards towards programs such as our Inaugural Australian indigenous program with Jumbun Limited in June.  We also give scholarships to people with lower financial access or to under-represented groups.

This event is brought to you by a collective effort of individuals, communities and GEN in Australia.

Follow our events on Facebook to get updates about the Program Schedule and Activities.

We are also on Instagram.
