Design x AI: Real World Learnings across Research, Design and Build

👋 Hello UXers!

We’re kicking off the 2026 season 🐎 with a discussion about the practical side of AI in our design practice.

We are joined by members of the Ghost6 group - Belle Chance (Head of Experience) and team from Ghost Dynamics, and Michael Cawte (Principal Engineer) from SECTION6, for a practical “show and tell” of their trans-Tasman team's workflow (NZ & Aus).

The Ghost6 team will share how they’ve integrated AI tools into their research, UX, UI, and front-end build processes, shown through real-world project examples. 

What’s we’ll explore:

• Practical Show & Tell: A look at how processes are changing with new tools.

• The "Augmented" Approach: Using AI to fill execution gaps without letting it direct the strategy or ideation.

• Know when to say ‘No’: Areas where they have deliberately chosen not to use AI and why that works for them.

• Raising the Bar: How to use AI to enrich the outputs; go further and deeper within the same time constraints. Why striving for "additional delight" beyond MVP is essential in a world where “The last best experience that anyone has anywhere, becomes the minimum expectation for the experience they want everywhere.” (Bridget van Kralingen).

• The Investment Needed: As tech enables richer experiences, those that don't simultaneously keep up with cleaning up data foundations are already behind.

Join Belle and her team for a transparent look at what’s working, what could have been better, and how their UX services have evolved.
