PGS PRESENTS A YEAR 12 EDUCATIONAL SHOWCASE OF A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE by ARTHUR MILLER
Event description
For their Year 12 Drama Showcase, Pulteney Grammar School brings Arthur Miller’s A View from the Bridge to Wyatt Hall. The new Stage II Drama course no longer has an examiner for one evening assessing the students work, but a holistic grade based on their development as an artist and a reflection on the process of this journey.
When Italian immigrants Marco
and Rodolpho arrive from Sicily as
longshoremen on Eddie Carbone’s doorstep
in RedHook, Brooklyn, his moral code, connection to community and culture are
put to the test.
Eddie’s personal desires and honour conflict, as he tries to balance his responsibility to the men, his wife Beatrice and her niece Catherine.
As a tentative romance blossoms between Catherine and Rodolpho, Eddie’s complex web of love, loyalty and dark attraction begins to unravel around him.
A View from the Bridge contains mature themes and violence.
SUITABLE FOR YEAR 10 UPWARDS.
