Description

The Institute for Australian and Chinese Arts and Culture (IAC) at Western Sydney University is thrilled to partner with Sweatshop - a literacy movement based in Western Sydney which is dedicated to empowering culturally and linguistically diverse communities through reading, writing and critical thinking, in holding this conversation. This event is a part of the ongoing celebration of the exhibition currently showing at IAC, Portraits of Women by Amani Haydar. These three writers are all second generation of migrants from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Their creative writings tell their lived migrant stories in a distinctively Australian multicultural setting and form an integral part of Australian literature today, an emerging force to be reckoned with.
