SEXtember 2024: Bystander Workshop 3 (Student Workshop)
Event description
We all have a role in preventing disrespectful behaviour and violence. This workshop, aimed at UNSW students, empowers you to recognize problematic situations and equips you to intervene when it's safe to do so
MATE is a leadership program, focused on the role of the bystander in creating respectful workplaces and communities. Our message is simple: by being an effective bystander, we can all contribute to strengthening a safe and supportive campus culture. This workshop empowers you to recognize problematic situations and equips you to intervene when it's safe to do so. We explore attitudes, beliefs, and behaviours that challenge disrespectful behaviour.
To drive change, we open a dialogue about the dynamics and context of all forms of disrespectful behaviour. Join us in creating a safer and more supportive community at UNSW
Being an active bystander means contributing to a world that is safe, equal, and free of gender-based violence. Come out of this workshop feeling empowered to respectfully challenge problematic behaviours, and show support to your community.
This event is brought to you as part of UNSW's annual festival of
celebrating, questioning and exploring every aspect of sex and
relationships. To learn more about SEXtember, check our website out here.
