Event description

Please join us on Sunday the 2nd of May for a special event at St. Andrews community hall, featuring forest community musicians, artists and speakers.

An auction of featured artists works will take place, such as the incredible wildlife photography of Justin Cally, Karena Goldfinch, Hannah Patchett and the immaculate crafts of Finn Bowles (Ingrained Woodcrafts) and Nic Fox Potter (Warburton Environment).

WOTCH is a volunteer-run grassroots organisation dedicated to protecting Victoria's native forests through the use of citizen science, community engagement and advocacy.

We survey in the Central Highlands and beyond throughout Victoria, from places like Toolangi in the west all the way to Baw Baw in the east. Using thermal and infrared video technology to detect threatened species in areas of forests earmarked for logging, WOTCH has protected over 1500ha from logging since it was established in 2014.

But sometimes surveying alone isn’t enough to save an area. That’s when the WOTCH community steps in to tell our elected representatives what we stand for, and we stand for forests.

And now for the first time we are using litigation to secure the future of our threatened wildlife. In 2020 we launched a court case against VicForests to protect habitat that remains after this summer’s catastrophic bushfires. Our trial is coming up later this year in September and we need your support to make it a success.

We need to raise funds to support our court case and ongoing survey activities.

We can't wait to see you there! For the forests.

*Food and drinks catered for, however, if you have allergies or special requirements we cannot guarantee that we can cater to you, so please plan ahead and stay safe. Thank you.
