Ōtautahi Christchurch Arts Community Hui & Morning Tea

Lately a group of creatives from a variety of backgrounds from visual arts to performing arts and everything in between have been gathering. Together we've been sharing our hopes and dreams of what a properly resourced and well-funded arts sector could look like.

There are whispers of forming an arts union to represent our city's wider creative community in discussions with the grown ups from places like the City Council and Creative New Zealand.

Mostly the meet ups are an informal catch up, a chance to share kai and conversation, hear what everyone has been up to creatively, celebrate the wins, and share our frustrations about the challenges we are facing.

Different arts spaces have hosted the hui so far, including Te Wā, Good Times, and Te Whare Tapere. Darkroom are delighted to host the next meet up, and would love you to be there, even if you're new to the group or attending these kinds of things!

Artists of all types from emerging to established are welcome to come along. Maybe you'll make a new friend, link up with new spaces and resources, and leave feeling a lil more connected.
