Event description

The Fair Trade Association of Australia and New Zealand (FTAANZ) supports Fair Trade Faith Groups as part of our Communities program.

The guiding principles of the Fair Trade movement worldwide are the 10 Principles of Fair Trade, developed by the World Fair Trade Organisation. The Fair Trade Association of Australia and New Zealand has developed a series of Bible Studies relating to each of these 10 Principles.

This online event is the third in a series of six Bible Study sessions, facilitated by the Fair Trade Association, for followers of Jesus Christ to learn more about the Fair Trade movement and how these 10 Principles link with biblical truths and values.

This session will look at the question: "How do we help poor communities?" in the context of Principle 5.

BIBLE LESSON 5
PRINCIPLE 5: NO CHILD LABOUR. NO FORCED LABOUR.

The organisation must adhere to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, and local law on the employment of children. Any involvement of children in the production of products is disclosed and monitored and does not adversely affect the child's well being.
