100th Anniversary Screening of the Mine with the Iron Door Presented with Live Music
Event description
This 100th Anniversary Screening of "The Mine with the Iron Door" is presented in collaboration by the Oracle Historical Society, The Art Ranch at Triangle L, and the Oracle Piano Society and funded by a grant from the Pinal County Board of Supervisors.
This silent film, which was shot here in Oracle in 1924, will be accompanied live by a chamber orchestra conducted by the composer, Brian Holman. Prior to the showing of the film, Holman will speak about the score which was originally prepared for a 90th Anniversary screening at the Rialto Theatre in Tucson.
Popcorn and refreshments will be served at the screening.
1920 era costumes are encouraged!
These tickets are for the Sunday, October 6 3 pm performance at Oracle Center for the Arts.
There will also be a Saturday, Oct. 5 screening of the film with music at the Triangle L Art Ranch.
