Event description

Abbey Arts Presents: Harry Bartlett in support of his album, “Mountain Air,” joined by Ballard native Evan Snoey on fiddle; with support from Elise Snoey, Mira Dickey and Patrick Gunning of Scandi-trad trio

Harry Bartlett: www.harrybartlettmusic.com

"With a background in jazz and an affinity towards folk music, Harry’s compositions “transcend a single genre” (Textura). Blending an improvisational approach with old time and western influences, his music is markedly personal.

Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, Harry moved to Toronto in 2016 to study jazz guitar at the University of Toronto and relocated again to Nashville in 2023 to pursue his interest in folk and string band music.  While he performs regularly as a band leader and a side-person across North America, coastal BC continues to inspire much of his work.

Following his debut jazz record Wildwood, Harry began composing for his new acoustic EP and released this collection of music in May 2024. Mountain air is "presented with a delicacy combining classical, string band and jazz elements” (The Whole Note).

We acknowledge the support of the Canada Council for the Arts." - Artist Bio

Evan Snoey: www.evansnoey.com

"An artist and creative at heart, Evan Snoey has explored and dived into many mediums of music and art. His background in traditional styles combined with a contemporary music education allow him to not only thrive in jazz, bluegrass, old-time, rock, indie folk, chamber and improvisatory music but to push and blend them together.
Evan has been playing music since he was five, first learning the fiddle. He grew up playing dance music, and has pursued many traditional styles since then. He sought out new instruments to learn, and new music to play. He has studied old-time, bluegrass, Scandinavian, Scottish, swing & jazz, and contemporary improvisational music.

Evan is a solo artist with an EP of original solo music scheduled to release in the spring of 2025. He currently plays with the bands The Woebegones and The Litch Brothers." - Artist Bio
