Theory for Year 11 EES Teachers

This workshop is designed for teachers new to teaching Year11 Earth & Environmental Science plus those who would like to refamiliarise themselves with the content, background theory and make connections across the different modules of the Year 11 EES syllabus. We will be unpacking:

  • Earth's Resources
  • Plate Tectonics
  • Energy Transformations
  • Human Impacts
  • Opportunities for Depth Studies

In addition, we will highlight the important 'assumed knowledge' for the HSC syllabus.

This workshop can contribute to 5 hours of ‘Elective PD’ addressing 2.1.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW. 

A Certificate of Completion will be sent to Graduate Teachers for their evidence

Workshop Delivered by Chris Ferry

Chris Ferry is a Head Teacher Science and holds a B.S Science Education in Environmental Sciences and Geology. He has been teaching Earth & Environmental Science for 14 years (plus Physics, Investigating Science). Chris has many years experience of EES HSC Marking including as a Senior and Judge Marker. He has also been a Trial Exam Convenor and worked with pre-service teachers.
