Keynote Speaker – Dr Sarah Mansfield
Member for Western Victoria and Deputy Leader of the Victorian Greens.
A former GP and two-term Councillor for the City of Greater Geelong, Sarah will speak about local extreme weather events and their impacts on people, through a gender lens.
Respect 20240 Partner presentation – Wimmera and South West Family Violence Partnership (WSWFVP)
Lou Hurley (they/them)-Principal Strategic Advisor with the Wimmera and South West Family Violence Partnership (WSWFVP) and recent trainer with Gender and Disaster Australia.
Lou will discuss why a gender and diversity-centred appoach is critical for disaster relief and recovery planning in the South West, including a focus on LGBTIQA+ responsive disaster planning and response.

Keelan will explore how financial counsellors can assist after a disaster, supporting people experiencing financial distress due to family violence or unequal access to resources.

Alex will share insights on the role of community service providers in preventing family violence, and how they can support women after a disaster and during recovery.
