Event description

The City of Belmont, in partnership with Reading Cinema, invite you to attend a screening of It Ends With Us, the story of Lily Bloom, a woman who overcomes a traumatic childhood to embark on a new life in Boston and chase a lifelong dream of opening her own business.

Every dollar earned will be used to purchase Christmas hampers for local families impacted by Family Domestic Violence (FDV).

Running from 25 November to 10 December every year, the 16 Days in WA campaign raises awareness, motivates positive action and highlights organisations, agencies, communities and individuals taking action to end violence against women. This event will begin with a short presentation from RUAH, who will discuss the 16 Days in WA campaign and the Belmont Safeguarding Families Advocacy Service.

Movie Synopsis: Adapted from Collen Hoover's novel, It Ends With Us tells the story of Lily Bloom, a woman who overcomes a traumatic childhood to embark on a new life in Boston and chase a lifelong dream of opening her own business. A chance meeting with charming neurosurgeon Ryle Kincaid sparks an intense connection, but as the two fall deeply in love, Lily begins to see sides of Ryle that remind her of her parents' relationship. When Lily's first love, Atlas Corrigan suddenly renters her life, her relationship with Ryle is upended, and Lily realizes she must learn to rely on her own strength to make an impossible choice for her future.

A movie about domestic violence and how the continuous cycle of violence is generational.

Movie Rating: M (mature) - This film is not recommended for children under the age of 15 years.
