Event description

Disabled Surfers Association Tas provides a fun, safe open water surfing experience for people of all abilities.   We return to Carlton Park Surf Lifesaving club for our first event of the season on Sunday February 1st 2026 and look forward to seeing lots of 'smiles on dials'.

EVENT TICKETS ARE FREE.

All surfers and carers must pre-register as we will not accept surfer walk-ups on the day. Last sign in for Surfers is 10.30am. If you require a support dog at the beach, please contact Kevin Faulkner (President) on 0412 463 387 to discuss as it is Surf Club and Sorell Council policy that dogs are not permitted in certain areas.

You will need to bring your own water bottle - water is available at the surf club and at the beach tent.  We will host a BBQ and opportunity to chat about how much fun we had at the end of this event.

Please do not attend if you are unwell and remember to cancel your ticket so it can be offered to someone on the waitlist.

Events will only be cancelled if there are dangerous conditions such as wild/big surf; strong winds and/or thunder storms. In the event of a cancellation we will post notices on our Facebook page.

Additional Volunteer Information

Volunteers are requested to pre-register so we know how many we have (this dictates how many surfers we can accept).  Volunteers will be accepted on the day.

We surf rain or shine, and we need your help.  Volunteering consists of helping surfers to and from the beach, assisting surfers in and out of the water and tandem board riding. We always need help with set up and clean up too.

Volunteers do not need to know how to surf, they just need to be willing to get wet and have some fun! If you surf or have water skills, it's a bonus. A rash shirt will be provided for use on the day, but volunteers are encouraged to bring their own wetsuits.  We do have a limited range of wetsuits available for loan on event day.
