Description

Begin your journey from yoga practitioner to confident teacher with a focused 25-day training experience at Kunwar Yoga in Dehradun.

This immersive program is designed for beginners and intermediate practitioners who want to deepen their personal practice while building a strong foundation in yoga teaching. The course combines traditional yogic knowledge with practical training in Hatha Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, pranayama, meditation, anatomy, philosophy and teaching methodology.

The 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Dehradun helps students understand yoga beyond physical postures. Throughout the training, participants study asana alignment, posture integration, variations, modifications, breathing techniques, meditation, Sanskrit terminology, mantra chanting and the principles that support safe and thoughtful yoga practice.

A major focus of the course is developing practical teaching skills. Students learn class structuring, sequencing, cueing, observation, hands-on assisting and supervised teaching practice. The goal is to help participants gradually become more confident in guiding others while continuing to improve their own practice.

Yoga Anatomy and Physiology form an important part of the curriculum. Students explore body systems, muscles, joints, yoga-related safety and injury prevention, helping them understand how anatomical knowledge can support safer instruction and better alignment.

Yoga Philosophy introduces students to the history and origins of yoga, Patanjali Yoga Sutras, Bhagavad Gita and the ethics of being a yoga teacher. These subjects help participants connect traditional yogic wisdom with everyday practice and responsible teaching.

Pranayama and meditation are integrated into the daily routine. Students develop greater awareness of breathing, concentration and mindfulness while learning how these practices can support both personal development and future teaching.

The published curriculum includes 80 hours of Techniques, Training & Practice, 20 hours of Yoga Anatomy & Physiology, 20 hours of Yoga Philosophy, 40 hours of Teaching Methodology, 10 hours of Evaluation & Tests and 30 non-contact hours for self-study, assignments, homework and peer discussions.

The daily routine begins at 6:00 AM with Asanas, Pranayama and Meditation. After breakfast, students attend Yoga Philosophy and Anatomy sessions. Afternoon time is provided for lunch and rest, followed by evening yoga practice and dinner. The timetable is structured to balance practice, theory, self-study and recovery throughout the 25-day course.

Students can choose from non-residential, shared-room residential and private-room residential options. Residential packages include stay and three meals, while the non-residential option is intended for students arranging their own accommodation.

The course package also includes a Kunwar Yoga 200-Hour Course Completion Certificate, YTTC manual in Hindi or English, one-day tour, Aerial Yoga session and a Jal Neti Pot/Rubber Neti kit.

Outdoor activities may include temple visits, waterfall trips, sunrise treks, Kirtan and other local experiences, depending on the course schedule and arrangements.

Students must maintain at least 80% attendance to be eligible for final evaluation. Assessment includes written work as well as practical teaching in Asana, Pranayama and Meditation.

Whether your goal is to begin teaching yoga professionally, strengthen your personal practice or understand yoga in greater depth, the 200 Hour Yoga TTC in Dehradun offers a structured environment for practice, study, self-reflection and teaching development.
