Event description

University House members and guests are invited to the 2022 Early Music Dinner, in partnership with Buller Wines.

Indulge yourself over a 4-course menu while listening to beautiful tunes and tasting a premium range of wines.

THEME: CALLIOPE
CALLIOPE is the oldest, wisest and most beloved of the nine muses in Greco-Roman mythology. Her name literally means "beautiful-voice" and she was patron of epic poetry and song.

CALLIOPE is also the name of Buller Wines century old vineyard, 'Calliope Vineyard', established in Rutherglen in 1921 by Reginald Langdon Buller.

FEATURING:

Auncient Hermony

Vivien Hamilton - director, singer
Amelia Jones – singer
Rosemary Hodgson – lute and theorbo
Ruth Wilkinson – viola da gamba and recorder

In honour of the renowned ecstatic harmonies of CALLIOPE's voice and the poetic and musical eloquence of her muse, early music ensemble Auncient Hermony is to present an intimate, word-based program of Renaissance and early Baroque vocal music.
