The TC Auxiliary is pleased to announce that the Annual Auxiliary Morning Tea will be held on Friday, 25 August in Gibney Hall.

This year's theme is “Women's Health and Wellbeing”. Our speakers - Dr Michelle Cotellessa, and Dr Sunita Chelva from Hera Menopause - will present on women's health, particularly the joys and challenges of menopause, what to look out for and what you can do to stay healthy. Guests will also enjoy a delicious morning tea.

SPEAKER PROFILE: DR MICHELLE COTELLESSA

Dr Michelle Cotellessa is a Founder and Principal of Hera Menopause and Women’s Health and is a GP in Perth with over 25 years of experience. She graduated in Medicine from UWA in 1994, achieved a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2000, a Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2003 and a Certificate in Sexual and Reproductive Health. Dr Cotellessa is a member of the Australasian Menopause Society and International Menopause Society and attends regular meetings and conferences to maintain her knowledge and skills with current up to date information. Through her experience in General Practice she has developed a special interest in Women's Health in Perimenopause and Menopause and the prevention of Chronic Disease. She is passionate about women gaining access to good quality evidence-based care and providing this with care and compassion, developing awareness of menopausal symptoms, and facilitating conversation about menopause and its management so women can feel empowered and educated.


SPEAKER PROFILE: DR SUNITA CHELVA

Dr Sunita Chelva is a Women’s Health GP with over 16 years general practice experience who is passionate about menopause medicine. Dr Chelva believes women should be educated and empowered to live their best lives well beyond their reproductive years. Dr Chelva completed her medical training at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2002 and initially commenced surgical training in Perth before redirecting her path to General Practice. She holds FPA certification in Reproductive and Sexual Health and is a member of the RACGP, Australasian Menopause Society, and International Menopause Society. Dr Chelva enjoys educating patients and fellow clinicians alike about menopause by giving educational talks and recording videos and podcasts on the subject. Most of all, she enjoys consulting with women and collaborating with them to help make the transition through midlife and beyond a smooth passage.
