Event description

Create a garden to attract & feed pollinators

Join Charlie Blumer and Mark Paterson from ACT for Bees for a buzzing workshop on bees, butterflies and more!

You will learn ways to attract, maintain and grow your relationship with earth's pollinators, walking away with the knowledge of pollinators' preferences and all you need to create your own bountiful garden in no time.

We will get our hands dirty planting out a native garden to attract and feed pollinators, followed by taking home your own plant and planting guide to start your own pollinator journey.

Let’s protect and grow our way into a resilient future for our pollinators.

About the Facilitators

Charlie and Mark are local beekeepers, who have a deep appreciation of the need to naturally support their honey bees with eco-friendly gardens planted with a range of flowering plants in their gardens.

ACT for Bees is more than about Bees: they are focused on flowers and plants that help pollinators such as bees, butterflies, birds and other animals to thrive in the shared environment.

Since 2014, ACT for Bees have been collaborating with ACT Government, local businesses, community groups and schools to support biodiversity and environmental health by planting for pollinators.

Not only does year round flowering provide food for pollinators, it also improves food security.
