The most glittering night of the year is here, and we can't wait to transform your night into the most wonderfully inclusive, music filled LGBTQIA+ Soiree going around!

Join us on Friday 15 November for a night of live performances, drag, new friends, special guests, and endless 🌈 QUEER FAB FUN. 🌈

What's the LGBTQIA+ Youth Soiree?

LGBTQIA+ Youth Soiree is a life-affirming, identity-celebrating night for LGBTQIA+ young people (aged 15 to 21 ONLY) to make friends, connect to community, dance the night away, and be their true selves.

Wear what you want, bring the date or mate you want, express yourself the way that YOU want, and celebrate with others! (Allies and folks questioning also welcome).

Theme - Fantasy Forrest (think spooky vibes, mythical creatures, Greek tales, grams fairy tales, DreamWorks etc)
Tickets are NO COST - registrations essential!
Food, refreshments and awesome fun provided!

Conditions of Entry:

Alcohol, drug, vape and smoke-free event. Any use of the above will not be tolerated.
Bag checks will be completed for your safety and others.
Anti-social behavior, including racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia will not be tolerated - this is a LGBTQIA+ youth safe space!

For your safety and others please do not attend if you are unwell or have flu like symptoms.

If you find out you’re unable to attend, please un-register your spot via HumaniTix so someone else can attend.
No allocated seating or tables – the vibes at this Soiree are casual, and primed for friend-making.
Tickets are for young people aged 15 to 21 only.

I don't know anyone – Can I attend LGBTQIA+ Youth Soiree on my own?

Definitely! The event is super welcoming, and conducive to making heaps of new friends – expect loads of activities to make you feel welcome and safe.

What’s the dress code?

At this event loads of attendees do like to dress up! So feel free to come dolled up!

This years theme is Fantasy Forrest. So come dress up as someone from a fantasy forest era, Shrek,Where The Wild Things Are, Greek Gods, Mythical Creatures, D&D vibes or even come as Groot.

At the end of the day we want you to feel comfortable and fabulous – so dress in whatever makes you feel that way!

P.S: Limited amount of clothing and make up will be provided to those who may not have access to these items.

What if I find out I can't make it anymore?

You'll be missed, but if that's the case, please unregister your ticket via Humantix so someone else can attend in your place.

Can I bring a plus one if they don't have a ticket?

No, unfortunately only folks who have a ticket can attend! We know how many of you want to attend, and we have pretty strict capacity limits – so if your plus one doesn't have a ticket, they'll need to jump onto the wait-list.

Will I need ID to get in? What happens if my name is different to that on my ID?

Yes, you will needed to have an ID to get into the event. We will only be checking IDs to ensure that all attendees are in the age bracket (15-21).

When we do, we’ll be looking at the listed age. We want attendees to register in a name that is comfortable for them, and we know how stressful and triggering this can be for trans and gender diverse people.

I’m not much of a dancer, will there be things for me to do away from the dance floor if that’s what makes me feel more comfortable?

YES! There are heaps of activities that you can get involved in away from the dance floor, including a fun place to get your photo taken, fun and information packed stalls, bracelet and badge making and even board games!

Can I leave the event and come back?

To protect the safety of our attendees, we don’t allow pass outs. Hope you can understand.

I have specific dietary requirements, will these be catered for?

If you registered your dietary requirements with your ticket, we will capture this with the caterers.

I want to bring along my parent, carers* and/or guardian, are they able to come along?

This is a youth event and we want to ensure that the vibes are youth friendly and safe on the night.
Brimbank and Maribyrnong Youth Services are also ensuring that this event will and is complying with the Child Safe Standards.

Though we are open to allowing parents, carers* and/or guardians to attend, this is an optional thing.
If there are parents, carer* and/or guardians present then they will be in their own space and be able to bond with other like minded families on the night.
Please get in contact with Brimbank or Maribyrnong Youth Services if you are looking to bring a parent, carer* and/or guardian along prior to the event.

Will there be a quiet space for those who may feel anxious and or neurodivergence?

Yes! If you feel more comfortable being in a quiet space away from lots of people or need a place to refocus, the Headspace and T2 quiet space is here for you. There will be activities here, so you won't miss out on making friends or having the fun you planned to have.

We recommend wearing a sunflower lanyard to let the staff know you might need some support that isn't always obvious to the human eye. We will also provide a coloured wristband you can choose to wear to communicate if you might be anxious.

Some types of neurodivergence and or anxiety include but are not limited to:

NVLD (Non-verbal learning disorder), ADHD, autism, misophonia, slow processing speed, generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety and PTSD/CPTSD.

Big events like this can trigger high emotions and we want you to know that you are welcome here and your attendance is valued and respected. You are not just a number ♥️
