    TUESDAY 23 SEPTEMBER

Distillery Tour Greenbanks and New Norfolk Distillery

In a region known for its vast number of malt distilleries, Greenbanks Tasmanian Whisky Co. was established to prove that extraordinary Tasmanian whisky can be produced not only from malted barley, but from other grains as well.

The centrepiece of Greenbanks Distillery is their 24” Vendome continuous distillation system, serviced by world-class process engineering and automation systems designed and installed by Tasmanian businesses Kolmark Engineering and SAGE Automation.

Hosted by head distiller, John Slattery, the tour will look at Greenbanks whisky-making process from end to end, highlighting their on-grain fermentation and distillation processes and integration into the Tasmanian agricultural lifecycle. The tour will conclude with a 15-minute Q&A to unpack your technical questions.

Following the tour at Greenbanks, we head off to New Norfolk and visit the cellar door of New Norfolk Distillery, Tasmania's premier Rum Distillery.

The distilling facility and cellar door is located within Willow Court, a former hospital and asylum complex of deep historical significance to the Derwent Valley region.

Since 2019, New Norfolk Distillery have made their own ferments (predominantly molasses based), and distilled, bottled and aged their spirits on site. The small team now produces a range of modern rums, gins, liqueurs and other tantalising tipples.

We start off with a welcome cocktail and tour of the facilities before settling in with a hot and cold lunch prepared by the extraordinary team of Season and Fire catering

Distillery Tour package includes transport and lunch.

    Start: 10am
    Finish: 2.30pm approx.

Note: The Distillery Tour Program is subject to change
