    2024 On-Campus Science Extension Workshop

    Monday, 4 November 2024

    About the Program

You and your HSC Science Extension students are invited to join us for an engaging and informative day to help them embark on an exciting journey into authentic scientific research. This workshop will guide them through the essential steps to launch their scientific research project with confidence.

During this on-campus workshop, students and teachers will have the opportunity to:

    • Gain valuable insights into the format of the HSC Science Extension course from the Department of Education
    • Explore best scientific practices and understand the foundational principles of scientific research
    • Learn how to conduct a literature search effectively and pick up tips and tricks on literature research skills
    • Take a campus tour with a choice between the Faculty of Science, Faculty of Engineering, or the Faculty of Medicine & Health
    • Network with University researchers, Science Extension mentors, and Science Extension alumni from across various faculties

By the time your students leave, they will have the knowledge and confidence to begin their own journey into authentic scientific research.
