Join the WA Landcare Network for its 2024 Annual Network Gathering on Friday 1 November 2023.

We had such a great time at the Cockburn Wetlands Centre last year we are returning again for a day of networking and learning and an evening of celebrations with our landcare champions.

This year's Annual Gathering theme will be 'Sharing Our Landcare Stories'. Storytelling is powerful for landcare impact, fundraising and advocacy and we are looking forward to a day of sharing landcare stories to inspire others, and learning about how we can tell our collective landcare story more effectively.

The evening's special event will be a Celebratory Sundowner to welcome our 2024 inductees into the WA Landcarer's Hall of Fame.  Please register separately for the Sundowner at the link below.

THE PROGRAM

A highly interactive event program will provide opportunities for landcare story telling through short presentations and networking opportunities throughout the day including:

  • Welcome to Country
  • Keynote by Dr Gretchen Miller, Award Winning Journalist, and Science and Environment Communicator, presenting 'Homeground - The critical role of storytelling about places that matter'.
  • Dr Louise Duxbury and Mel Tyas from the National Landcare Network, introducing the new National Landcare Facilitators Program and how it can assist WA landcarers.
  • Panel Discussion - Tips and Tricks for Landcare Storytelling
  • Dean Arthurell, Carnaby Crusaders presenting about his work with landcare groups to conserve Black Cockatoos, including the opportunity to view these magnificent birds in his interactive display.
  • Presentations by a raft of landcare member groups sharing their inspiring stories of success, collaboration, and lessons learned.
  • WALN Highlights from 2023-24 and What's Ahead for Landcare in a brief WA Landcare Network Annual General Meeting.
  • Catering by Indigenous caters, All Good Grub including gluten free and vegetarian options.
