2025 ACT Literary Awards
Event description
The ACT Literary Awards are held annually to recognise and celebrate the achievements of writers from the ACT and surrounding regions. These prestigious honours include the MARION Book Awards, the Finding Beauty Poetry Prize, the June Shenfield National Poetry Awards, the Anne Edgeworth Fellowship Award, the Canberra Airport Recognition Award for Literary Inclusion, the MARION Fellowship, and the Marion Halligan Award.
We gratefully acknowledge the generous support of the Anderson Pender Foundation which has enabled prizes across all award categories this year. Thank you to our fantastic sponsors and event partners who are supporting this event: ACT Government, The Shine Dome, Canberra Airport, Big River Distilling Co., Harry Hartog ANU, HerCanberra, Photox, Pulp Book Cafe, She Shapes History, and Waypoint Tea Co. We gratefully acknowledge the enduring support of the Anne Edgeworth Trust and the families of the late Roger Green, Marion Halligan, and June Shenfield.
Tickets include canapés and drinks. Books will be available for sale at this event with thanks to Harry Hartog ANU.
MARION strives to ensure that this is a safe and accessible event. On the night we request everyone who is able to wear a mask, please do so. If you do not feel well or have been in contact with a confirmed, or suspected case of COVID-19, have COVID-19, or are awaiting PCR test results, please stay home.
The Jaeger Room and amenities are wheelchair accessible. Due to the heritage nature of the building, however, doorways into the venue are only equipped for access by standard wheelchairs. Two disabled parking spaces are available within the Academy carpark. More information about accessibility of The Shine Dome is available here.
