2025 Union Aid Abroad-APHEDA Sydney Dinner

Join us for this year's - Union Aid Abroad-APHEDA Global Solidarity Dinner in Sydney. It’s set to be internationalism's night of nights!

And what a year it's been for our movement's global justice organisation! Authoritarians and oligarchs abound, but they can't keep us, the workers, from uniting. 

Joining us will be Keynote Speaker: Hon Dr Anne Aly MP

Dr Anne Aly is the Labor MP for the northern Perth seat of Cowan, she is the Minister for Small Business, Minister for International Development and the Minister for Multicultural Affairs in the Albanese Government.  

Anne moved to Australia from Egypt when she was two years old. Her mum was a nurse and her dad an engineer, but they both worked in factories in Australia. 

Before entering Parliament, Anne established herself as an internationally renowned expert in counter-terrorism and counter-radicalisation. 

Anne has been an advisor to the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Directorate, a Board member of both the Council for Arab Australian Relations and the Australia Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and has addressed President Obama’s Countering Violent Extremism summit at the White House. 

Anne is the Founding Chair of a youth-oriented not for profit organisation that harnesses youth entrepreneurship and innovation to address global issues at the local level. 

As always, there is a comprehensive prize list including memorabilia from the 40+ years of Union Aid Abroad-APHEDA activism.  

Ticket purchase includes the nights entertainment, and a marvellous three-course meal prepared in the on-site restaurant (all dietary needs can be accommodated). Drinks will be available to purchase at bar prices.
