2025 Art & Design Festival - Sashiko Workshop
Campbelltown Arts Centre
campbelltown, australia
Event description
Sashiko is a running stitch technique used traditionally in Japan to decoratively reinforce points of wear or repair torn garments with patches. The technique was used to extend the life of garments worn by fishermen and farmers and to provide warmth as a quilting technique.
The aim of this class is to work a SMALL Sashiko panel that can later be used to create an object such as a brooch or purse or that could be used to embellish a tote bag or item of clothing.
