Event description

Learn the recognised language of the Australian deaf community. Ideal for those wishing to communicate with other signers socially and for service providers such as medica.

You will learn to:

  • Communicate in Auslan
  • Gain an understanding of the grammar used in Auslan
  • Be able to communicate with Auslan users on a basic level

This course runs for 4 weeks on Wednesday evenings.

Students will receive a certificate of participation at the successful completion of the course.

Dates (you must attend all 4)

• Wednesday 9th April
• Wednesday 16th April

Easter Break Wednesday 23rd April


• Wednesday 30th April
• Wednesday 7th May

Time: 5pm – 7pm

Location: course will be delivered online via zoom

IMPORTANT - Technical Requirements

You will need to use a computer or laptop for this course with a working web cam.  It is essential to position the camera  at a distance from the user, as this facilitates a clearer observation of hand movements.

Smaller devices, such as iPhones, iPads, or tablets, will not offer an optimal learning experience due to the use of the learning resource and Zoom concurrently. Therefore, it is not recommended you complete this course using these devices.
