2025 Auslan Beginners (Online) (Aug)
Event description
Learn the recognised language of the Australian deaf community. Ideal for those wishing to communicate with other signers socially and for service providers such as medica.
You will learn to:
- Communicate in Auslan
- Gain an understanding of the grammar used in Auslan
- Be able to communicate with Auslan users on a basic level
This course runs for 4 weeks on Tuesday evenings.
Students will receive a certificate of participation at the successful completion of the course.
Dates (you must attend all 4)
- Tuesday 5th August
- Tuesday 12th August
- Tuesday 19th August
- Tuesday 26th August
Time: 6pm – 8pm
Location: course will be delivered online via zoom
IMPORTANT - Technical Requirements
You will need to use a computer or laptop for this course with a working web cam. It is essential to position the camera at a distance from the user, as this facilitates a clearer observation of hand movements.
Smaller devices, such as iPhones, iPads, or tablets, will not offer an optimal learning experience due to the use of the learning resource and Zoom concurrently. Therefore, it is not recommended you complete this course using these devices.
