Event description

Tourism Industry Council Tasmania and Wine Tasmania invite you to their seventh annual BLEND Wine + Tourism event.

Our tourism and wine sectors have much in common and share aspirations to grow our value through increased yield, while fostering a global reputation for sustainability and quality built on the Tasmanian brand.

BLEND is about bringing our sectors together to talk wine tourism, grow connections, and progress our shared vision for Tasmania to become Australia's premium wine destination.

BLEND Wine Tourism Workshop:

Wednesday 6 August, 10am – 11.45am, Derwent Estate Vineyard

Following the success of last year's practical workshop, the BLEND workshop is back in 2025! This interactive workshop will equip you with meaningful insights on the value and importance of experiences in the global tourism landscape. Through hands-on activities and discussion, we will explore how cellar door and complementary wine tourism experiences can create strong demand for visitation. Let's create the ultimate Tasmanian wine experience that can put Tassie firmly on the international visitors' map!

The workshop will be faciliated by Wine Tasmania's export and tourism guru, Cat Carey of Think Tourism. Cat's previous experience encompasses decades in all things tourism - from a variety of commercial inbound tourism companies, luxury, mass market, groups, cruise, events to government destination marketing. From understanding the key inbound markets to product development, contract negotiation, managing a variety of teams, event delivery, the ins and outs of distribution and how we can influence people to travel - she has covered it in some way, shape or form!

BLEND Wine + Tourism Lunch:

Wednesday 6 August, 12:30 – 2:30pm, Derwent Estate Vineyard
