Get ready for the ✨ sweetest ✨ day in Valpo! Join us with all your fellow chocolate lovers on Saturday, May 3rd for all things chocolate, fun with friends, and a springtime stroll through Downtown Valpo indulging in decadent chocolate treats from 25+ local businesses! 🍫🍪
Plan to check in on the Courthouse Lawn (16 E Lincolnway) leading up to your ticket start time (12:00 or 1:00 p.m.) and receive your Chocolate Walk map, bag, and lanyard. Then, begin your stroll around Downtown Valpo with the Chocolate Walk map as your guide; stopping at each participating business, collecting your chocolate treat, and getting your lanyard card punched while stopping to shop and dine, of course!
If you visit ALL Chocolate Walk stops, be sure to stop by the Valparaiso Events tent to enter to win the 🍫✨ Chocolate Walk Prize Basket ✨🍫 valued at over $200 and chock full of spring & chocolate-themed items from participating local businesses!

With a high number of stops to enjoy treats from, sharing is encouraged within groups! Everyone in your group does not need to buy a ticket to attend if you plan to share treats. However, ONLY ticketholders will receive treats from Official Chocolate Walk stops.
All funds raised from ticket sales helps fund Valparaiso Events' free, family-friendly events held throughout the year.

Start Times
2 waves of walkers will be participating in this year's Chocolate Walk - one beginning at 12:00 p.m. & one beginning at 1:00 p.m. - BOTH waves will have the fully allotted time, UNTIL 4:30 p.m., to visit all stops.
* You will be able to select either start time when purchasing your ticket so please select your ticket carefully.
FAQs
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
There is no age limit for attendees. But every attendee, no matter the age, needs a ticket to receive chocolate treats from Official Stops.
The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?
Yes. You can buy up to 6 tickets per transaction and they can all be under your name but given to other attendees.
Is my registration/ticket transferable?
Yes.
How am I identified as a Chocolate Walker?
Upon check-in, you will be given a lanyard that signifies you are a participant and also serves as your punch-card so you can receive your treat at each location.
What do I need to bring for the Chocolate Walk?
You will be walking about 1-2 miles outdoors, so wear a comfortable pair of shoes & dress for the weather!
Where do I start?
Attendees will start by checking in at the Valparaiso Events Tent, located on the Court House lawn (16 E Lincolnway) to receive their Chocolate Walk map, bag, and punch-card lanyard. Check in begins at 11:00 a.m. CST. From there you can follow the map however you'd like; there's no exact route to follow!
Where should I park?
Downtown Valparaiso has many options for free parking such as city streets and lots. You can find a parking map on our website here: http://valparaisoevents.com/parking-map/. The Porter County Administration Building has a public parking garage located at Indiana Ave. and Lafayette St.
How does my ticket benefit the community?
Valparaiso Events is a non-profit organization which hosts a variety of community events throughout the year, and the majority of them are free to attend. This is made possible with your support of events such as the Chocolate Walk. Please know that by purchasing a ticket, you are not only getting a day of chocolate bliss, you are also helping us create a vibrant, thriving community! Valparaiso Events organizes the Outdoor Summer Movies, Summer Concert Series, Popcorn Festival, Downtown Trick-or-Treat, Fall Harvest Festival, Holly Days and so much more!
