2025 Deakin UniSport Nationals - Athletics

Event Details

Dates: 22-24 April 2025

Deakin Team Accommodation: Booked from 21-25 April 2024 at the Gold Coast Performance Centre

Costs

Students that represent Deakin in this event cover the following costs:

DUSA Payment:     $300 - $350 includes 4 nights share accommodation, insurance, off-field uniform, and competing uniform (if necessary - Size Guide)

UniSport Payment:        Approx. $155-$230 depending on how early you complete your registration.

Travel costs:                       All travel is arranged and paid by the student.

Extras:                                All incidentals and meals (outside of team dinners) is at the students’ expense.

UniSport Nationals events provide students a great opportunity to represent their university while connecting with fellow student athletes on a trip together. We encourage you to have a good look through the event website.

UniSport Australia also identify students who have the potential to represent Australia at the world university championships at this event.

Please note that Nationals Athletics also caters for multi-class athletes. All events will be contested in multi-class classifications except for Hammer Throw.

Would I get selected in the team?

UniSport Australia set qualifying standards for this event.

If you have met the minimum standards required, you can apply to represent Deakin.

Register and pay with DUSA before the 9th of March 2025. 

You will then be provided with a team code to then register for the event with UniSport.

Due Dates/Timeline:

9th March: DUSA payment/registration closes close at 11.59pm.
10th March: Your place in the team will be confirmed via email and your uniform ordered. At this point your DUSA payment becomes non-refundable but if you need to withdraw, you will keep any uniforms ordered. You will be provided with a team code to then register for the event with UniSport.
30th March: UniSport Standard Registration closes
15th April: UniSport Late Registration closes

Team Manager

While at the event, the team will be managed by Deakin student athlete, Laura Kadri. Laura will be competing in the event on the Gold Coast. Once you are confirmed in the team, Laura will set up a group chat so the team can communicate before the event, share your travel plans, share Ubers, hire cars, etc. Stack Team App will be used by DUSA to communicate to the team at the event.

Transport

All students are to arrange their own transport to and from the event as well as while on the Gold Coast. The team can communicate to arrange ride shares, etc.

Accommodation

Deakin have booked a 20-bed lodge for the team at the Gold Coast Performance Centre, a 2-minute walk to the track. Rooms are twin share with a communal lodge kitchen/lounge. The venue offers a gym, lap pools, recovery pools, and is walking distance to dining options and a shopping centre. Here is the website for the accommodation.
