2025 GIWA Barley Forum
Event description
With Western Australian barley growers face more variety choice than ever, growers are not seeing the premiums for malting barley materialise and the decision to simply grow for yield is becoming more attractive. What does the future hold for the WA barley industry?
The 2025 GIWA Barley Forum will provide insight into the current challenges facing the WA barley industry – from breeding and malting barley segregation recommendations, through to international markets and post farmgate opportunities.
Attendees at the 2025 GIWA Barley Forum will hear from a cross-section of recognised Australian grain industry stakeholders on views from the malthouse, paddock and glasshouse, as well as receive an update from breeders on new varieties, and the malt barley variety receival recommendations for 2026/27 will be discussed.
GIWA welcomes member and non-member participation from the barley industry.
Registration starts at 12:45pm for a 1:00pm start. The event will run until 5pm with a networking sundowner to follow.
Registration for both online and in person is essential by 5pm Thursday 31 July 2025.
Any questions on registrations please contact our office via email to Nadia Chiang on admin@giwa.org.au.
