2025 Union Aid Aboard-APHEDA Global Solidarity Dinner
Event description
Join us once again for internationalism’s night of nights — the Union Aid Abroad–APHEDA Global Solidarity Dinner.
And what a year it’s been for our movement’s beloved global justice organisation!
Authoritarians and oligarchs abound — but they can’t stop us, the workers, from coming together in solidarity this Friday, 13 June.
Keynote speaker: Nic Maclellan
Nic works as a journalist in the Pacific islands, as a correspondent for Islands Business magazine (Fiji) and a contributor to Pacnews, Inside Story and other regional media. He has written about decolonisation, demilitarisation and development in the Pacific, and reported widely on labour rights, climate justice and self-determination. He was awarded the “Outstanding Contribution to the Sector” award by the Australian Council for International Development (ACFID) in 2015, and the Walkley Foundation’s Sean Dorney Grant for Pacific Journalism in 2020. He is a proud member of the Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance (MEAA).
