Event description

This booking link is for home educated participants only.

The Biology, Earth and Environmental Sciences (BEES) Day is an annual event that showcases some of the exciting career choices and opportunities in science.  It is designed to increase students’ awareness of real science jobs and encourage them to consider science pathways when selecting subjects at high school.

Home Education WA attended the BEES day in both 2023 and 2024, which were excellent and has once again, registered as a 'school' for 25 students to attend.

There is very limited space in the lecture rooms, so it will be ideal for 'most' parents to drop off for this event. If you choose to 'drop and leave', please ensure you are contactable throughout the day.

ABOUT THIS EVENT

  • The event is run at Curtin University, Kent st, Bentley

  • The date is Friday 5 September, 9:30am-2.00pm

  • There are four interactive Science-based sessions run over the duration of the day

  • Option for the parent to stay, or to drop and leave the student (s) in the care of Monique Stone (HEWA committee member)

  • Cost: $10.75/pp**

** Cost includes the fee HEWA pays for each student to attend, booking fees and a printed copy of the campus map, timetable and description of the sessions to be covered.

FORMAT OF THE DAY

  • Meet at Curtin University near Mallokup kiosk, at 9:15am

  • HEWA committee member Monique Stone will tick off attendances from the list and issue the campus maps and our timetable

  • We will attend these sessions as ONE GROUP.

The timetable for 2025 will not be made available to us until closer to the date.
