Event description

The 2025 HSRCA Sydney Classic will bring full field of classic, historic and vintage race cars to Sydney Motorsport Park June 7-8 for an action-packed weekend of historic motorsport on Sydney's iconic grand prix circuit.

The meeting will offer races for most classic and historic classes as well as speed events for vehicles manufactured up to the 2010s and invited cars deemed compatible with those groups.

For our 2025 meeting we are pleased to feature the iconic Group C & A Australian touring cars of the Heritage Touring Cars series, HQ Racing NSW and MG Racing Australia.

We are pleased to welcome HQ Racing NSW back, after they first joined us at an HSRCA meeting at the Sydney Classic last year. Coming out of Tasmania in 1989, HQ Racing is a category for Holden HQ four door sedans running 3.3-litre six cylinder engines. The HQ Holdens are a great fit for our historic race meetings and we look forward to seeing them in action on track once more.

The Heritage Touring Cars series will contest the third round of their 2025 championship at the Sydney Classic, reaching the mid-point of their competition. These are the cars that many of us grew up watching racing around Bathurst in the hands of legendary drivers like Brock, Richards, Skaife and more, and they’re run with the same vigor today as back then.

We are thrilled to welcome MG Racing Australia back in 2025. The series comprises a huge range of race and sporting MGs, from the mighty 5.6-litre MG B GT V8, complete with full aerodynamic package, to works MG ZTs, a British Touring Car Championship MG ZS, the only factory MG SV-R in existence and more.

We look forward to seeing you at Sydney Motorsport Park from 9am each day of the Kings Birthday long weekend, June 7 & 8.

Established in 1981, the HSRCA’s aim is to preserve, restore and compete with some of the most desirable racing cars that have ever been built, and race them as they were intended. Due to the diversity of cars that compete in historic motorsport, each with different strengths and weaknesses, our racing offers plenty of opportunities for dicing and on track fun. Modern and highly skilled competitors can drive these cars faster than ever before, displaying their full potential to spectators.

Through historic motorsport you can enjoy the friendship and camaraderie that modern motor racing has lost, and experience the thrill of driving cars that made heroes of their drivers.

The HSRCA organises and runs major historic race meetings each year at Sydney Motorsport Park and Wakefield Park. In addition we hold regular club meetings, various social events and club plate runs.
