2025 MRC/Redlands Foot of the River

The Foot of the River is an opportunity for our families, supporters and more to row in a 4 week program, training twice a week from the boat shed at Mosman Rowing Club (Spit Bridge).  The program accommodates new rowers with no previous experience as well as more experienced rowers wishing to brush up their skills. The program culminates in a regatta along with parents and friends of Redlands School, racing on a 500m course at Davidson Park (under Roseville Bridge) against other crews from MRC and Redlands.

All training and racing is done in a four person stern coxed quad with a dedicated coach per crew coaching from the cox's seat. Each session is 90min in duration (60mins on water and 15mins either side to setup or pack up).

Training conducted at a time that suits each individual crew subject to availability.

COST

Cost: $475 per seat ($1,900 per crew)

TRAINING TIMES

We can handle 2 crews (i.e. 8 people) in any given timeslot (based on boats available)

  • 5.15am to 6.45am (pre sunrise)
  • 6:15am to 7:45am
  • 8:30am to 10:00am
  • 9:30am to 11:00am

• Sat & Sun
  • 6:00am to 7:30am
  • 7:00am to 8:30am
  • 8:00am to 9:30am
  • 9:00am to 10:30am

• REQUIREMENTS

• Can swim 100m unassisted (otherwise will need to wear a PFD)
• Of sound health

EXPERIENCE

• No prior rowing experience required

 ADVERSE WEATHER

• We will call off training early in the morning in the case of localised thunderstorms or excessive winds
• We will still offer training in rain
• Every effort to offer “make up sessions” will be taken but cannot be guaranteed
• A text message will be sent out to the nominated crew captains cancelling in the case of adverse weather
