2025 Oral History Awards Showcase Event
Event description
To celebrate the exceptional originality and quality of the oral history entrants to the Victorian Community History awards, this OHV event will showcase the four shortlisted projects by the judges. Hosted by Al Thomson, representatives of each project will talk for 10 minutes about their work and share extracts, followed by a Q&A.
The Oral History Victorian Community History Awards are presented by Public Record Office Victoria in partnership with the Royal Historical Society of Victoria, Oral History Victoria, and supported by the Victorian Government.
Alexandra Pierce's work "Women, Conscription, War" was the Oral History Award Winner. Her project consisted of a 15-episode podcast that tells the story of the Melbourne women who opposed the Vietnam War and the National Service Act from 1965-1972.
