Presented by the Arizona Council for Exceptional Children AZCEC and the Arizona Council for Administrators of Special Education AZCASE, the Principal and Charter School Leaders Institute serves as a vital resource for special education educators and administrators, emphasizing the importance of understanding legal issues in special education. In today's educational landscape, staying informed about disability laws and legal considerations is crucial, as these elements directly influence educational practices and advocacy efforts supported by the Council for Exceptional Children.

This hybrid in-person and virtual conference is a great opportunity for school administrative teams and special education leaders to learn how to untangle the legal issues of disability laws that are often present when working with students, families, staff, and the community.

Presenters

Presenters are school attorneys from Udall Shumway Law Firm. The attorneys advise and represent schools and school personnel on a wide range of legal matters, with a significant portion of those matters relating to special education and other disability law situations. The attorneys provide day-to-day legal advice and assistance, defend school districts and charter schools when complaints are filed with ADE and OCR, and represent clients in State and Federal courts when litigation cannot be avoided.
