The Ravenswood School for Girls and Knox Grammar School Student-Led Wellbeing Conference will offer emerging student leaders the opportunity to participate in a student-led workshop series where they will explore wellbeing strategies underpinned by the science of positive education that can be applied to both individual and collective wellbeing. The workshop themes for the 2025 conference is Mental Toughness – The Power of Growth.
The conference will begin with an inspirational keynote from Michel Crossland, centred around ‘the power of perspective’ followed by a workshop to build the practical tools of mental toughness ‘empowered by growth.’
The student led workshop themes for the 2025 conference include (but not limited to):
- Rewiring Your Brain: Breaking Free from Autopilot
- Strengths Unleashed: Using Your Strengths to Build Mental Toughness
- Challenge Accepted: Embracing and Overcoming Obstacles
- Digital Micro habits to sharpen your focus
- Mastering the Mind: Building Mental Toughness
As the wellbeing needs of young people continue to become more complex, equipping them with the wellbeing toolkits to thrive through the power of student voice is more important than ever. The conference will offer the opportunity for the education community to explore the implementation of wellbeing science by providing current developments in theory and research aimed at bolstering the wellbeing of our staff and students across the many layers of the School Community. Additionally, aiming to help educators connect evidence, research, and theory to the creation of practical classroom and school-wide strategies to enhance student wellbeing and academic attainment.

The power of perspective
Michael will share his remarkably inspiring story of overcoming extreme adversity to achieve incredible outcomes in both his personal and professional life. Global audience numbers now exceed 900,000 people. Despite and because of spending nearly 1/4 of his life in hospital, Michael’s ability to help shift your mindset, instil perspective and have you determined to become the best version of yourself, will amaze and inspire.
Representing Australia in his chosen sport, holding an executive position with one of the largest companies in the world at the age of 23, and then throwing it all away to find his true passion and purpose, will leave you in awe.
He has shared the stage with the likes of Sir Richard Branson and the Dalai Lama & his online videos have been viewed by more than 150 million people.
Michael’s story will undoubtedly bring a tear to your eye and a smile to your heart, but above all will teach you the power of perspective, the keys to happiness, the importance of embracing change, and the mindset needed to achieve a fulfilling life.
At least one accompanying staff member is required for students to attend.
Registration: 8.15am for 8.45am start, conclude: 3.00pm. inclusive of morning tea and lunch
