In this workshop, participants will learn a number of embroidery techniques to begin their own contemporary sampler. Skills taught will range from basic embroidery stitches, to beginner blackwork embroidery, as well as some goldwork and shading techniques. Alongside stitching, we will discuss contemporary textile practices to examine how stitch traditions can be reunderstood for current times.
