More About our Adjudicator

Elisabeth has had an extensive career as a violinist. In Germany, she was for many years a member of the Munich Chamber Orchestra, with which she toured widely in Europe, Asia and South America and made numerous recordings, broadcasts and festival appearances. After coming to Australia, Elisabeth played regularly with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra.

Elisabeth has also been active in the chamber music field, both in Europe and Australia. She has recorded for Fine Music FM and ABC Classic, including first performances of Australian compositions. Elisabeth has developed a special interest in chamber works written by women composers, and has performed several recitals of such works with colleagues at the Sydney Conservatorium.

Elisabeth is an experienced teacher, teaching for many years at the Sydney Conservatorium in both secondary and tertiary programs as well as in her own private studio. Elisabeth is also an experienced examiner. She worked with the AMEB for more than twenty years, examining up to AMEB diploma level, and was a member of one of the AMEB syllabus committees.  She has also regularly adjudicated at eisteddfods and concerto competitions.

Elisabeth gained a Bachelor of Music at Stuttgart College of Music and has undertaken postgraduate studies at the Geneva Conservatoire de Musique and the Sydney Conservatorium.
