Description

Regional Sounds Inc., with support from the City of Greater Geraldton and Rio Tinto, will be delivering a music development program to see more entries in this year’s Battle of the Bands competition.

The annual Battle of the Bands competition will be held at Queens Park Theatre on Sunday the 16th of November. To assist local acts in building a band, and having their three song entries practised to perfection, local acts can sign up to participate in regular specialist music skills workshops, or choose to use the rehearsal space and music equipment as needed in the lead up to the competition.

If you are an act, please select as many 'tickets' as there band members - you can complete more information further through the process.

If you are an individual wanting to join an act, please register as one 'ticket' for STREAM ONE and we'll work together to build new bands.

STREAM ONE:

  • Attend workshops with experienced musicians and educators

  • Participate in a private revue

  • Access to rehearsal space and equipment outside of workshop dates

STREAM TWO

  • Access to rehearsal space and equipment outside of workshop dates

  • Participate in a private revue

Program objectives:

1. Increase local participation: Engage more people in the Geraldton community through active participation in music workshops and the BOTB competition.

2. Skill Development: Enhance musical abilities, performance skills, and collaborative working among musicians.

3. Band Formation:Facilitate the formation of bands, fostering teamwork and creativity.

4. Performance Confidence: Build confidence through performance practice in a supportive environment.

5. Community Engagement: Connect musicians with the local community through public performances.
