The Junior Moot is the ideal introduction to mooting for first time mooters. It allows you to develop your written and oral advocacy, legal research and teamwork skills in a supportive and constructive environment. You will be Judged by practicing Barristers and Solicitors, which provides an invaluable networking opportunity, as well as practical feedback which prepares you for practice. This year, Grand Final teams will be assigned a coach. They will be an experienced and successful mooter from La Trobe University, usually a former International Competitor.
Teams must consist of between two and three members. Only one person per team shall register on behalf of the team, and they must provide the details of the other team members. If you do not have a team, but still wish to register, you will be randomly assigned a team by the Director of Competitions. It is expected that you will be available to compete at any time throughout the competition that you may be assigned. If you have a legitimate reason why you are unable to compete on a particular night, you must privately notify the Director of Competitions. The Director of Competitions will determine whether your reason is legitimate, and if it is deemed so, will make alternate arrangements.
