Talking Landcare & 2026 Annual General Meeting

We’re delighted to welcome well-known Jamberoo botanist, ecologist and author Kevin Mills to our 2026 Annual General Meeting for a special Talking Landcare presentation about his new book, The Rainforests of Southern NSW – A Comprehensive Guide.

The book takes us on a journey through the rainforests of southern New South Wales, including our own special Illawarra Subtropical Rainforest. Kevin explores the plants and landscapes of these forests, as well as their long history of human interaction, helping us to see these remarkable places with fresh eyes.

We’ll also have a display of local rainforest plants and an opportunity for some plant identification. Bring along a cutting or sample of a rainforest species and Kevin, together with members of the Landcare committee, will see if we can identify it.

The Rainforests of Southern NSW – A Comprehensive Guide will also be available for purchase.

This year, we’re heading to the Jamberoo Youth Hall. We’ll begin the afternoon with an optional guided walk through the  nearby Jamberoo Valley Landcare site, where we’ll see about the group’s successful regeneration work along Hyams Creek.

Back at the Hall, the AGM will be followed by Kevin’s presentation, with time afterwards for a relaxed evening of supper, drinks and conversation.

All Landcare Illawarra members and local community are warmly invited to attend our AGM.
