Thu, 23 Oct, 2:30am - 3am EDT

Event description

The University of Melbourne is home to a range of Museums and Collections that offer curriculum-aligned, interactive, and innovative school programs led by a team of interdisciplinary educators.

Join us online for our 2026 preview event to learn how you can curate an experience for your students that showcases knowledges, skills, and pathways through exhibition-linked programs that bring learning to life!

Learning Experiences at Potter Museum of Art and Buxton Contemporary are available to primary and secondary students and include interactive exhibition tours and hands-on art making workshops.

Led by facilitators either studying or with lived experience as practicing artists, emerging curators or cultural practitioners, our school programs encourage critical thinking, creativity, and inquiry-based learning through direct interaction with art.

Learning Experiences connect with diverse subjects across the curriculum. The 2026 Exhibitions at The Potter and Buxton Contemporary will provide students with an opportunity to engage with works from the University of Melbourne’s Art, Classics, Medical and Herbarium collections, as well as important loans and commissions of new works.

The Learning Experiences Team is excited to share more about our 2026 exhibition program with you on the launch!

By attending this launch, teachers will:

  • Learn about future-focused educational workshops and interactive exhibition tours for secondary students

  • Find out how to connect your students to interdisciplinary learning opportunities at the University of Melbourne’s museums and galleries.

  • Explore our unique Peer-to-Peer facilitation model and meet our team of experienced museum and gallery educators

Attendees will go into the running to win one of three free tours to a venue of your choice for up to 25 students.
