Event description

Pre-purchase Public Sail tickets as a gift for friends and family members to set sail aboard the historic schooner Adventuress during the 2026 Sailing Season - Think of this as a gift card!

Here's how it works:

  1. Use this event to purchase however many tickets you'd like to give your friend or family member as a gift.

  2. Once the 2026 Public Sail schedule is announced, a Sound Experience staff member will reach out to you/the ticket recipients to ask which sail fits your schedule.

  3. The Sound Experience staff member will move those tickets from this event to sail of your/the recipients choice. Then all email addresses associated with the tickets will receive important pre-sail information.

Note about buyer/ticket holder names and contact information - its up to you when you purchase the tickets to include your information for each ticket or put in the recipients information. It's fairly easy to go back into the tickets and update information once the tickets are associated with the correct 2026 Public Sail.

About Public Sails

Our 3-hour Public Sails are designed to get everybody involved, and no sailing experience is required. They are a perfect way to explore Puget Sound and learn about our unique marine environment while sailing aboard the historic schooner Adventuress. From the moment we get under way you'll be invited to help raise the sails or take a turn at the wheel. As we explore the Puget Sound/Salish Sea, the crew will explain it's unique marine environment and share the history of Adventuress. Then listen to a sea chantey, a talk from an on-board guest or crew member -- or just sit back and take in the whole experience.

Public Sail locations vary from year to year but we will likely have one or more sail out of the following ports: Port Townsend, Seattle (Shilshole Bay Marina), Tacoma and Everett. Other possible locations include Bainbridge Island, Bellingham, Olympia and sometimes Friday Harbor.

The Sailing Season is from mid-March to end of October each year. Public Sails are most often offered in the spring and fall (when the wind is best!). There are usually a handful of summer Public Sails depending on our overnight program schedule. Spring (and some summer) Public Sail dates will likely be announced in February.

Infants aged 0-1 are free, but must have a ticket. The US Coast Guard regulates exactly how many people are on board, including infants and young children. Make sure you have a ticket for each person in your party before boarding.
