2026 QKR Summer KENDO Seminar - EVENT REGISTRATION
Description
The Summer QLD State Kendo Seminar and Grading will take place at the Gold Coast Recreation Pricinct over the weekend of the 5-6 December 2026. There will be optional morning keiko (mawarigeiko or free keiko) as per the below schedule.

11:00-12:30am - Session 2
12:30-1:30pm- Lunch (BYO)

Please note that all participants must be a current financial AKR members (at time of registration) or FIK Affiliate members (international FIK Affiliate members must have travel insurance).

Grading Examination
Date/time: Sunday 6th December 2026 - 9am.
Grading offered: Kendo 3 Kyu to 1 Kyu, 1 Dan to 4 Dan (subject to panel member availability)
Registration: Please follow the steps below
Submit your signed Grading Application Form (found here: akr_grading_applcation_form QKR - 2024_08_12.pdf) to Grading@qkr.asn.au by 5pm Friday 20th November 2026 to be eligible to be examined. No late submissions will be accepted.
Pay your grading fees via https://events.humanitix.com/2026-queensland-summer-kendo-grading-examination-grading-registration-and-payment (opens 2nd week October).
Current QKR members, AKR affiliate members and FIK affiliate* members are eligible for the grading examination.
Time in Grade requirements apply.
* A foreign candidate must complete an AKR Grading Application Form and provide a letter of approval from the President of their FIK affiliated body requesting permission for the person to attend the Examination. The letter must include the following information:
That the candidate is a current financial member of that body;
When and where the candidate's current grade was obtained;
A copy of the current Grading Certificate; and
A statement that the candidate has trained continuously for the required time.
