No writing experience required! Led by a Write Around Portland volunteer facilitator of color, Resonate consists of writing, sharing, and giving strengths-based feedback to each other. (Sharing is optional!)
Find your Community
Resonate sessions give plenty of opportunity to listen to others’ stories. Many folks return week after week for a space to unwind and decompress. Resonate is an opportunity to build genuine ties and connection within our community of color.
Get Started
Led by a Write Around Portland facilitator of color, Resonate consists of writing, sharing, and giving strengths-based feedback to each other. No preparation or experience in writing is required! Resonate is a great way to unlock your creativity, build or maintain a writing practice, and get some writing done!
* Please note that this program is reserved exclusively for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. If you’re looking for a space to write and do not identify as BIPOC, all writers are invited to join us at Freewrite or Prompt!
Facilitators for 2026
Jewels Pedersen
Jewels Pedersen is honored to support Write Around Portland as a workshop facilitator and hopes that through the power of writing, people feel empowered to share their stories, building connections, helping themselves and healing. Jewels has read and performed their work in and around Portland, and is working on a coming of age novel set in the 90’s.
Juliana Posada
Juliana Posada has experienced the power of storytelling since a young age. In her adult life she has seen such a power as a catalyst for people’s connections and empathy. She sees the opportunity of writing together as a place for growing and learning in community. She was inspired by the accessibility of Writing Around Portland workshops in allowing a quality space for story telling through fostering writing where everyone can participate. As someone working in the humanities field, Juliana is happy to facilitate a space of connection and sharing, where everyone’s stories are heard and valued.
Briseida Pagador
Hi, I’m Briseida Pagador (brih-say-dah | they/she) an arts and cultural worker with roots in hospitality and public education. My love of poetry threads my love of community. There is a truth each of us knows so intimately, stories only you and I can tell. My goals as a facilitator and writer are (in no specific order) to embrace the blank page, empower authenticity, alchemize fear into support, build networks like mycelium, and enjoy the process alongside you.
