Physical health and mental health are closely connected, and supporting both is an important part of whole-person care. This session explores the role mental health practitioners can play in recognising and responding to physical health and nutrition needs, including how to have useful conversations and support people to make changes that matter to them. Participants will hear from specialists in physical health and nutrition, followed by a panel of mental health practitioners sharing how they bring these approaches into everyday practice.
Note regarding eligibility: All allied health clinicians in the first two years of employment in a clinical mental health role – dietitians, social workers, speech pathologists, aboriginal mental health trainees, occupational therapists, psychologists, physiotherapists, pharmacists, exercise physiologists. Students are not eligible to attend. Manager approval must be obtained.
