2026 U14 Emerging Trials

Basketball Queensland (BQ) is excited to announce the 2026 U14 Emerging Team Trials.

The selected U14 Emerging teams will compete at the 2027 Southern Cross Challenge and form part of the BQ Emerging Program, providing athletes with further development and representative opportunities within the Queensland pathway.

Under 14 Emerging Eligibility:

To be eligible for the Under 14 Emerging trials, athletes must meet the following criteria:

• Born in 2014, making them bottom-age Under 14s in 2026

• Must be currently registered with a Basketball Queensland affiliated association

• Must be currently registered as a representative player in a Basketball Queensland affiliated association. Must have played U14 Representative basketball in 2026.

Trial Details:

Please note that for south trials athletes will trial in groups based on their association. Please find groups below.

South Female Trial

Monday 21st September @ Logan Metro Sports and Event Centre

• Session 1: 9.00am - 10.30am - Group 1

• Session 2: 11.30am - 1.00pm - Group 2

• Session 3: 2:00pm-3:30pm - Group 1 and 2

Group details:

• Group 1: Southern Districts, Gold Coast, Brisbane Capitals, Ipswich Basketball, Red City, Toowoomba Basketball

• Group 2: Northside Wizards, Logan Basketball, South West Metro, North Gold Coast Seahawks, Sunshine Coast Phoenix, USC Rip City, Eastside Knights, Moreton Bay

South Male Trial

Tuesday 22nd September @ Logan Metro Sports and Event Centre

• Session 1: 9.00am - 10.30am - Group 1

• Session 2: 11.30am - 1.00pm - Group 2

• Session 3: 2:00pm-3:30pm - Group 1 and 2

North Athlete Trial (Male and Female)

Thursday 24th September @ Townsville Sports Precinct

• Girls Session 1: 9.00am - 10.30am

• Boys Session 1: 10.30am - 12.00pm

• Girls Session 2: 1.00pm - 2.30pm

• Boys Session 2: 2.30pm - 4.00pm

Please note there are no trials for U15 Emerging teams. These teams will be selected from the Future Development Program.
